Day 1 : Rose Lake – Lompoul Desert (200km/4h)

After a meeting with your information guide, meet the pink salt lake gatherers. Then road to Thies, former capital of the rail, and its amazing colonial architecture.
After lunch, road to Lompoul and in the dunes in 4x4.
Walking through the most beautiful sand desert at sunset.
Overnight in Mauritanian tents (25m2 bed tent).

Day 2 : Lompoul Desert – Saint-Louis (145km/3h)

Descent to the fishing port where the arrival of the canoes surfing the waves is an amazing spectacle.
Then drive to St Louis visiting en route a small market for bush meat.
After lunch, visit the old town, ancient capital of West Africa.
Road on the Djoudj;
Overnight at hotel of Djoudj

Day 3 : Djoudj Park or Langue de Barbarie – Ferlo region (245 km/4h)

Located in the estuary of the Senegal River Djoudj Park is a heaven for migratory birds, and for some mammals (warthogs, jackals, monkeys ...).
Visit the park's bird sanctuary which is sayd to be the third in the world.
On returning to St louis lunch then drive to the heart of Senegal, home of the Fulani herders.
Arrival at the cottage of Koba in the Ferlo region and Walking Tour at the meeting of pastoralists milking animals.
Evening and stay overnight near the Fulani herders and their huge herds of zebu.

Day 4 : Koba – Touba – Mbour or Dakar (180km/3h)

After a morning walking tour to witness the departure of cattle grazing, road to Touba. Premiere holy city of Islam in Senegal, the gigantism of the mosque contrasts with the surrounding savannah region.
After lunch, drive to Mbour (or Dakar) where some villages we still offer this amazing home that the bush offers.

On arrival, a team composed of a guide approved by the Ministry of Tourism and an engineer driver with extensive experience will be present to greet you.
From to 2 to 3 participants, accompanying the team will consist of a driver-guide.
Your tour leader will hold an information meeting on the progress and planning of your trip.
When visiting a game reserve and bird expert guide accompanies the group.

Group size
Depending on the number of participants, the group will be divided into small units of 4-16 people maximum to protect the well being of each and keep a human scale while visiting villages in the bush.

Only the CFA franc banknotes are accepted.

Sunny and dry during the day from October to July and cool evening. The nights can be chilly at night at this time especially given the range of temperatures (35 ° to 18 °). Provide a light jacket or fleece.
Sunny and humid during the rainy period of August to September. Provide a K-Way or a cape although showers do not last long (one hour) and are often very localized. It is an exceptional period when the whole bush relives!

Indicative Itinerary
The route is designed to meet your needs of sharing authentic encounters with local people in areas outside of mass tourism.
The duration of the stages and progress can be modified to vary the tracks and meetings while maintaining the sites to visit.

Transportation is aboard a very comfortable air conditioned buses from 8 to 16 seats maximum.
2 to 4 participants, is a passenger vehicle that we use air conditioning.
To explore the Djoudj Park, will travel aboard motorized canoes. No rolling or wave while sailing on the River.
All means of transport are current with their insurance in addition to a RC business.


Lodgings are in small structures inspired by the traditional ethnical architecture in the circuit to maintain a harmonious environment. In general, these are various forms of African huts thatched with fan and mosquito nets with private bathroom.
All boxes have a light and electrical outlets powered by a generator soundproofed to recharge your devices.
Although comfort is simple, special emphasis is placed on the quality of reception, hygiene and cleanliness.
The Lompoul desert, accommodation is in Mauritanian tents of 20 m² with private facilities located at 80m.

- Rose Lake Cottage
Huts by the pink lake. Electricity supplied by a generator and therefore can recharge the cameras, phones and camcorders.

Mauritanian tents of 20 m² with complete bedding. Each khaïma (tent), has for environmental reasons it’s own sanitary at a hundred meters.
A generator lights the restaurant tents and can charge the devices.

Hostellerie of Djoudj : 3 star hotels (local standard) with air-conditioned rooms and swimming pool inside the bird park.

- Koba Cottage
Twenty African huts with private sanitary and running water in the heart of the Fulani pastoralists region. The lodge runs on a generator from dusk to midnight. Keep the oil lamps away from boxes to avoid the risk of fire, staff will provide you with a flashlight in each box.

All means of transport (vehicles, boats, carriages) are current with their insurance in addition to a business C.R.
Accompanying staff has a mobile phone and the signal goes everywhere.
A first aid kit is on board vehicles for first aid and a GPS to locate the vehicle if needed.
In cases of extreme emergency, setting provision of a helicopter.

Meetings and sharing
The people you meet are very sensitive to the courtesy and politeness.
Therefore ask permission from people to photograph or videotape.
Take time to meet and understand and make connections.
If you have gifts to give, give to the oldest person in the village.
During the tour you will visit villages, bush schools, bush dispensaries where pens, notebooks, chalk, clothes and medicines for children are welcome. Ask your guide.
